NIIX – I: Remixes

Manchester-based singer, songwriter, producer and performer NIIX launches a remix EP of her debut record ‘I’.

Following the national success of the original EP, ‘I: Remixes’ features reworks from five of the most talented up-and-coming producers of the North West. Originally an electronic pop EP with inflections of club, these reworks spanning breaks, techno, dubstep and more, will take you from the midnight cigarette to the 3am dance-floor.

Liverpool-based artist Ranga opens with a distorted rework of W8NG with chopped up vocals and glistening synths, following the success of latest EP ‘Kong’ on Third Place Records.

Next up, Manchester’s Qwirk (Boiler Room, Rinse FM) takes inspiration from trap and dubstep with a melodic twist on BBY, resulting in a heavy but euphoric take on the atmospheric original.

La Collectif/Vandelay resident Madame Longree jumps in with a breaksy transformation of LST&FND, with scattered high hats and dirty, razor-sharp basslines.

Not Bad For A Girl resident DaiSu follows, bringing BBY up to double-time. Her heavenly 2-step take on the original follows an electric set for Keep Hush and BBC Radio 1 airplay.

The EP grinds to a natural calm with Melodic Distraction’s BRYN, soaking up a euphoric, trance-laden take on LST&FND with a subtle build that leaves you yearning for more.
