This month’s IIT’S NIIX features a stunning, hour length performance from Liverpool-based collective Ode.
Following the release of her ‘I: Remixes’ EP yesterday, NIIX invites one of her collaborators, Ranga, to share his new project Ode. Also made up of Rose, Orbic and Jenome, their work reveres the source of improvisation and conscience, with performances resonating spaces that challenge the listener and reward ventures into the soft centre.
Previously influenced by romantic classical music, otherworldly ambient, spiritual jazz, modular quadraphonic systems and boom bap hip hop, this new group are hoping to bring spirit, truth, stories and holy tribute into the now. This debut mixscape for Longthrow Radio features first steps of ideas, with a focus on captivating live performance of modular synthesis (Ol) and vocals (Rose).
